Move Goals and Monthly Challenges Review for 2021
04 Jan 2022From September to December 2020 I was pretty consistent and managed to get perfect month awards. That got me thinking in motivated: In 2021 I wanted to get the perfect month awards and complete all the monthly challenges. Despite a plethora of stress factors I managed to accomplish that goal. Here are the challenges the Apple Watch cooked up for me:
- January: 30 workouts in a single month
- February: Burn 20.500 calories (did 20.900kcal)
- March: Walk/Run 250 kilometers (did 290km)
- April: Double the move goal 7 times
- May: Walk/Run 270 kilometers (did 275,5km)
- June: Double the move goal 7 times
- July: Walk/Run 240 kilometers (did 246km)
- August: Earn 2300 exercise minutes (did 2386)
- September: Burn 25.500 calories (did 25.640kcal)
- October: Double the move goal 10 times
- November: Walk/Run 280 kilometers (294,2km)
- December: Double the move goal 11 times
The walk goals in May and July were expecially annoying since those are the months where I prefer to use the bike. Same for November: An average daily goal of 9,3km is just too much for a month where its harder to catch up on weekends rain, cold weather and lockdowns.
In retrospect I’m happy that I pulled through, but I will ignore the monthly goals this year as much as possible. It just was too much in an already challenging year.
