Paper Boar Head
27 Feb 2016I prepared working for this model by doing smaller test builds with cheap paper, scalpel and a ruler. The manual work was tedious and error prone and I finally decided to gift myself a Silhoutte Portrait Cutter. Life’s too short to build models of this scale by cutting the parts manually — automation is the way to go! While the process of cutting and folding is simplified by orders of magnitude, glueing and assembly is still a labour intensive task.
I was quite happy with how the project went, but I cannot recommend using regular glue like I did. When handling it it draws those weird silky fibers that would get stuck on the paper. If you use too much, the excess glue will come out and will look quite shiny compared to the matte paper. I’ll research better alternatives.
