Train to Cannes

After breakfast I packed my backpack and left it with the cleaning staff. I wanted to use a few more hours of the day to explore the city and its surroundings.

While walking around I noticed a cable car (Ferrovia a Cremagliera) going up the steep mountain. The hills there are lined with forts and bastions - if I had more time I would have loved exploring them. But I needed to catch my train to Cannes and I made my way down the hill on foot. I went to the hotel to pick up my luggage and looked for a place to eat.

After lunch I hopped on (what I thought was) my train. The conductor checked my ticket and I started reading my book. After a while I realised the hills outside the window, the rain and the fog. After I corrected my mistake I finally got the train ride I expected: sunset, beach dwellers packing their things and beautiful landscapes.

Passing Monte Carlo and Nice. Every bay studded with yachts and sail boats.

At 20h at night I finally arrived in my hotel (Hotel Alnea) and was able to relieve the receptionist from her duty. The hotel was not big enough to afford a 24 hour reception. I found something to eat and went to bed.

The watch reports 22.738 steps and 16,52km of walking.
