Train to Montpellier
17 Sep 2023
I got up early, readied my backpack and brought it to the reception for safe-keeping. Did another tour through Cannes and had lunch. Soon it was time to go to the train station.

On my way to Montpellier I had to switch trains in Marseille. It was delayed for two hours which was too long to be nothing and too short to explore the city. But it was a hot and humid day and I didn’t have the energy anyway.

It was already nightfall when I arrived in Montpellier. I checked into my hotel (Hôtel des Arts Comédie) right next to the old city centre. I went to find dinner and then strolled through the neighbourhood.

Before going home I came across the Antigone quarter which had an eerie, almost creepy vibe: not a single soul on the streets and an oddly proportioned architecture of this “Retortenstadt” really had an odd mood.
When I sank into my pillow I had walked 22.524 steps (16,75km).
