Lisbon Day Two

Fresh out of bed I had breakfast at the hotel and walked down to the Tagus. Along the way I bought postcards and stamps. At the water I found a street cafe, got an Americano and wrote my vacation messages to friends and family.

I wanted to see the Belém Tower and the Padrão dos Descobrimentos monument, but walking those 6km did not seem feasible. I decided to rent one of the Lime bikes standing everywhere and ride it there. I had to try a few times until one would unlock and I was finally on my way. After a short ride I arrived at the monument and tried to park, but the app would tell me the bike was not closed. I made a video of the parked bike, the closed lock and sent it off to customer support. Half an hour of messing around for the price of a taxi ride…

From the Belém Tower I made my way up the hill and visited the Jardim Botânico Tropical and the Jardim de Estrela. After that I went back to the hotel to rest and freshen up.

I had dinner and once again went up to Miradouro do Monte Agudo to watch the sunset.

On the way down I passed this tuk-tuk garage. Driving tourists up the hills to the vistas, parks and castles is big business. I went to sleep clocking 25.206 steps (18,48km) and ~6km on bike.
